It's all about fancy stuff today!

Today's Top News

You know there are woman that get cheated on everyday, some that live in trailers with some good for nothing loser that can't keep a job... they find out and kick the bum out and what do they get... to keep the rented trailer and the set of Arby's Christmas glasses, that's a combo that could make any woman bitter. But today I found out one woman could possibly find forgiveness a bit easier, Tiger's soon to be ex-wife is going to get a couple of houses and 750 million dollars!  I'd always heard of marrying well but wow-wee that lady divorced well.  If I were her I could so smile at his dumb arse every time I had to see him.  C'mon 750 million that's a whole lot of medicine for the ol' heartache.

*Yes guys I know women cheat too... I'm sure one day we'll get to that.

Today's Remember When

Someone asked on their status today, "What fashion trend did you follow which was very cool then but now looks ridiculous?"

Here are some of the great answers:

leg warmers
half shirts
Jellies
parachute pants
muscle shirts
big hair
layered socks
bandannas tied around your leg

Hot Crazed Sex Poodles

Today's Top News

Is it hot in here or is that just global warming? Silly me I thought the Gores broke up because the site of Al's naked arse grossed out Tipper but I was so wrongAfter reading all of this business I'm just sickened. Of course mainly because some "crazed sex poodle" thought he could just have his way with someone just because he thinks he's special.

And then there's the comment in the article about a liberal friend who told the woman, that Gore tried to bore, (you can take that one either way you'd like) that she couldn't tell on him because then the planet would suffer if Al didn't save it from global warming.  REALLY?  People like that vote folks!

Global Warming Leads to Nudity

Today's Top News

As most of you have probably heard, Tipper and Al Gore are getting divorced after 40 years of marriage.  It does leave me wondering who will get the new place in California that is sure to be underwater within years with the Earth's temperature rising and all. With that said, one might think that global warming might have something to do with their breakup. I mean, you know, when it gets hotter, tempers get short.  Or maybe the heat caused Al to walk around in his underwear, or worse, in nothing at all, and Tipper became repulsed.  But nnnooo, that's not it at all. According to CBS News, it's George W. Bush's fault!   No, really, you can read all about it here.

And yes you are welcome for the Al Gore visual. :oP

Today's Interesting Status

"It’s called the 'grey fallacy.' One person says 'black,' another says 'white,' and people assume the truth is somewhere in the middle. But this is sloppy, lazy thinking. Just because someone takes a position that is diametrically opposed to the truth does not skew the truth in his direction. The truth is still the truth."

You can ponder on that one awhile!

Pictures and Places

Today's News

The Health Care debate is in full swing today on Facebook and people are fired up!  The ones opposed to this bill are posting the Kill the Bill picture as their profile picture.  From what I can tell it's spreading like wildfire.  I'd be interested in knowing if any of your friends are posting this as well.

Statues, Time Wasters, and Punctuation

Today's Top News

I found out today about Indonesia having a statue of Obama as a child. You can read all about it here.

Today's Great Status

warns you that reading this status may result in having wasted several seconds reading this status for nothing.

Today's Fan Page

I have found the perfect fan page for my mother.  She calls me all the time to tell me about all the mistakes on my blog.  The woman is so obsessed with grammar and punctuation, that she took her a newsletter she received from the company that she worked for marked it up with a red pen, and sent it back to themI'm sure a phone call will be coming after she reads this post as well.  Hi mom!

If people like me drive you crazy with their lackadaisical attitude when it comes to grammar and punctuation this fan page is for you,  'Let's eat Grandma!' or, 'Let's eat, Grandma!' Punctuation saves lives.

My New Idea

I think that we should start one of those chain status deals and I have an idea for it to see how far we can get it around Facebook.  I'll announce it when we have 100 fans on our page so join up by clicking the Facebook widget on the sidebar and becoming a fan.

Ramenaire, Cherubs and a Celebrity Goat

Today's Top News

I learned about this guy that was just so miserable being a millionaire that he was getting rid of all his things and money to feel better.  Now I've never been a millionaire so I'm not so sure about how I would feel about that but I know it's not very pleasant to not have any money either in fact it just plain sucks.  I've been through times in my life, and I'm sure many others have too, that I like to call the "Ramen Era" I guess at that point I was a ramenaire.

What truly made me curious about this article is that it only mentioned his wife one time and it didn't mention how she felt about giving all the money away.  Did she take her half and leave or is she all in on this?

Today's Great Status

...thinks Valentines Day is a little scary...I mean come on... some fat toddler with wings chasing you with a weapon?? That's some scary "Chuckie" stuff!!

Hmm, I never really thought about it like that.

It's All About The Animals

Today's News Story

Honestly there was nothing worth repeating that was posted today... slow news day on Facebook for sure and I don't care what level you are up to in Farmville, it's just not news worthy!

Today's Great Status
.... tried to sing like Snow White... must not be doing it right though, cause no animals came to help clean house!

I've never tried that one but I'm guessing the animals would run for the hills if I did it.  My singing is so bad I could probably get a gig exterminating mice or something from homes.

Granny you're what???

Today's News

"I look at the numbers and I`m worried. I`m worried about this government committing itself to so many entitlement programs and committing itself to such a level of taxation that support those entitlement programs." - Chris Matthews

Could this mean that one of Obama's biggest cheerleaders in the media is about to turn on him?

Today's Joke

This has to be one of the lamest jokes I've heard in a long, long time.

Ya know when my granny was 76 she told me she was bi-sexual--and of course I said WHAT--she goes well I must be bisexual I have said bye to sex.

Free Cell Phones and Workin' The Farm

Today's Top News

Wireless Welfare - Wow, did you know now when you go to pick up the food stamps, you also get a cell phone!  In this article, http://blog.heritage.org/2010/01/18/government-welfare-cell-phones-for-the-poor/

I found that over 20 states have this program in place with more to follow. The United States spent almost $819 million on this program and of course you know the price tag is going to get bigger!

This story also reminds me that you can also use your government issue cell phone to take a pic of our First Lady on the days she goes to work at the soup kitchen.

Today Fan Page

The above article leads me to the fan page of the day,  Making Drug Tests required to get Welfare  That way when you get your cell phone you can deal just not use.

Today's Well That's Interesting...

Now most of the friends I have had the day off of work.  Seems like I would get some interesting stories as to what they did on their day off.  Well I can tell you that it looks as if the majority of them squandered their day off playing farm, cafe and some fishy aquarium thing. I guess though it keeps them out of trouble I haven't heard of anyone ever going to jail for playing Farmville.

Fur, Fees, and Feet PJ's

Today's Top News

The fur was flyng today after last nights Texas gubernatorial debate with Debra Medina, Kay Baily Hutchinson, and Rick Perry. Had the debate not been virtual I would have been hiding under my desk. I've heard it said before that politics was a bloodsport.  I'm proud though that while my friends are strong in their beliefs that they are keeping it a clean fight, no name calling... well so far anyway!

I like that my kids call it a Goober debate!

Today's Really?

Soap Box Time - I saw that someone posted on their status a rant, slamming the banks because of processing fees on credit card charges for Haiti. I have to say that while I think the banks could give a discount. It's their business, they have rent, electric bills, office supplies (which some employees use at work and home! LOL) and employees, etc. So, when the people that beATCH that other people (the banks in this case) should give up their money they need to give up theirs first. I guess they think working for free is ok. I don't think anyone should be forced into a charitable act.

Today's Fan Page

Ok this one is right up my alley and I'm not ashamed to admit it! I stay in my pajamas until I absolutely HAVE to get dressed. I personally have more pajama pants than pants to wear in public. It's an extensive wardrobe of plaids, cartoon characters, and just plain cute.  I just don't know how June Cleaver ever got anything done in those heels and pearls.

Sad, Really Sad and Heart Broken

Today's Top News

Haiti! You'd have to pretty much not have a pulse to miss that one.  It's so very sad. They need our prayers and money. I learned on Facebook that you can donate to the American Red Cross by texting Haiti to 90999 and $10 will be added to your cell phone bill to help the relief efforts in that country. I did confirm this and you can check out here

Today's Facebook Fun

On a lighter note, someone, and only God knows who, on Facebook decided it was retro week.  They put their status as, GOING RETRO....WAY BACK WEEK! Post a pic of yourself when you were younger & see how adorable and funny we all were! Copy & paste!  Then they post a picture of when they were younger.  Sadly,  given the average age of my friends it looks more like mullet week. I might just have nightmares and I've already caught myself humming Achy Breaky Heart!  It just makes me want to put on some mom jeans and go line dancing.
*Disclaimer - I don't know the guy in that picture, he's just some random dude I found on the internet.

Now because you are my guest here I thought I'd save you the trouble of going to find good ol' Billy Ray.  No need to thank me really, it's my pleasure.

Today's  Fan Page

In honor of the retro week pictures I found - The Mullet where it's all about business at the front, party at the back.

Cheers & Jeers, Jargon & Jackets

Today's Top News Story

Cheers of joy and grumblings of loathing came up all over today as a story broke that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin signed on to be a contributor on the Fox News Channel.  Fox News reported that Tuesday at 8p ET is her first official day on the job.

Today's Word of The Day

I saw a new word today that I didn't know.  It was used on a comment about the above story.  The comment said that Palin made liberals apoplectic.

From  http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary
Main Entry: ap·o·plec·tic
Pronunciation: \ˌa-pə-ˈplek-tik\
Function: adjective
Etymology: French or Late Latin; French apoplectique, from Late Latin apoplecticus, from Greek apoplēktikos, from apoplēssein
Date: 1611

1 : of, relating to, or causing stroke
2 : affected with, inclined to, or showing symptoms of stroke
3 : of a kind to cause or apparently cause stroke ; also : greatly excited or angered

Since I started this blog just less than a week ago I've added two new words to my vocabulary. The cool thing is that I can use them both in one single sentence. The assclowns in D.C. are making people all over the country feel apoplectic. I know you'll want to use that witty piece of work as your own during your next political conversation around the water cooler so, please feel free.

Today's Quote of The Day

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." Robert Collier
Now that is something that you can take into the New Year to stay on track... One day at a time.

There's no Facebook in our new Facebook fan page!

I couldn't see having a blog like this without having our very own fan page on Facebook.  Creating this page taught me something else new today; I learned you can't have a fan page with the word Facebook in it.  So, our fan page is just simply What I learned today!

Trash Talkin', Texas Pride, & An Expanding Vocabulary

Todays' History Lesson

Margaret Sanger, Founder of Planned Parenthood - I was surprised to learn about this woman.  I was truly blown away by some of the statements she made about the human race in general.  Sure, we are all guilty of thinking we are better than others at times but old Margaret took her beliefs to an extreme.  I was in awe of, what I would call, her twisted mindset.  If you'd like to learn more about Ms. Sanger click here.

Today's Big Theme

Like I said in my previous post the majority of my friends live in Dallas or have at some point.  There is all kind of talk about the Cowboys' first playoff game.  There are doubters that are worried about the one and done of the past.  But then there are those hard core Kool-aid drinking fans that are trash talking it up!  The only way I truly care about the outcome of this game is what my husband's mood will be tomorrow. :oP

Today's Fan Page

The most popular fan page among my friends today was I bet Texas can get 1 million fans before any other state They are more than half way there with 551,015  I'm not really sure if that is great though as I do have somewhat of a life and I wasn't about to check our other 49 states.

Today's Word of The Day

I admit today wasn't the most interesting day on Facebook.  But the word of the day had to be the bestest! On the comments on a quiz about the Health Care Debate I saw someone refer to the current legislature and administration as a bunch of ASSCLOWNS!  LOL This will now be one of my new favorite words. See I'm expanding my vocabulary, Facebook is educational.

Tasers, Football, & A Modern Day Hero

Today's Top News

From Fox News - Taser introduces new device to monitor kids and cell phones
I have to admit this headline conjures up images of some teenager getting the crap zapped out of them for sending any kind of explicit text message; just a little good old fashioned shock therapy.  Not to worry though parents, we know corporal punishment no longer exists. This new device, featured at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, is merely an application for both your cell phone and your child's.  To see the full story click here.

Today's Fan Page

Most of my friends are from Dallas so this one is a given, Dallas Cowboys kicking the Philadelphia Eagles Ass!

Today's Facebook Hero

Today there were a lot of comments about Colt McCoy, the quarterback from the Texas Longhorns. He was injured in last night's BCS Championship game and couldn't finish. So, why is he the hero of the day? Colt simply stated, "I always give God the glory. I never question why things happen the way they do. God is in control of my life. And I know that if nothing else, I'm standing on the Rock."  He sounds like a very honorable young man!

Today's Application - How original were my parents?

Tiffany's parents get a C+ for originality.
Ranking: 'Tiffany' was the 99th most popular girl's name in her birth year.
Rarity: 47% of girls had rarer names that year. (Grade: C+)
Peak year: 'Tiffany' peaked in popularity in 1988.
Current rank: 'Tiffany' is currently the 250th most popular girl's name.
Current name: Tiffany's parents might name her 'Gracie' today (current #99).

Grilling Weiners, Underroos, and Jets

Today's Top News

'Terrorism' Exists Only in Your Mind - Great story addressing what we've all been thinking about the underwear bomber.  Not just that it could have been awful and devastating but the other part about being crazy enough to blow yourself and other people up but omg being crazy enough to put that stuff in your undies.  I mean really if the guy had been successful did they tell him his package would be safe when he got to the other side? Otherwise he wouldn't have had much use for the virgins.

Today's Odd Event

Apparently today was the day for posting about one's underwear.  I found out my friends have a plethora of colors, stripes, polka dots, plaids and some don't have any at all.  I just don't know if I needed to know all of that. I admit though that some brought more pleasant visuals than others.

Fan Page of The Day

The most popular fan page of the day was God still loves me, even if I don't forward those text messages
